Bit's world

Gresik Nyel

City of pudak cakes, milkfish and damar kurung lanterns — and an elephant statue that leaves Bit puzzled. Wander wherever you like, hop on a scooter or a boat, switch between rain and the scorching noon; nothing is locked.

Bit's House

The little kampung house where Bit lives: clay roof tiles, a porch with wooden chairs, and a small aquarium glowing blue behind the window at night. The checked sarong on the clothesline is a nod to Gresik’s hand-woven sarong village, Wedani in Cerme.

East Java

Trips around East Java

From Gresik, Bit ventures further: across Suramadu to Madura, by ship to Bawean, by car to Bromo and Batu, and by plane to the far east for Ijen.

Honest note: Bit is a state machine, not AI. Cultural facts come from open sources, using only those the sources agree on; Ramadan dates use the Umm al-Qura calendar, so they are approximate. Company names are deliberately left out; the only real people mentioned are historical figures and artists who have passed away.
