Ijen Crater

Ijen Crater holds a turquoise lake often described as the largest acidic crater lake in the world. Its blue fire comes from burning sulphur gas, not lava; it burns day and night but can only be seen in the dark. Sulphur miners carry yellow blocks up from the crater floor — hard work that deserves respect.
