Gresik Town Square (Alun-alun)

This square in the heart of the old town was redesigned and reopened on 9 March 2019, on the anniversary of the city of Gresik: a two-storey arcade now surrounds a garden lined with date palms, facing the Jami' Mosque of Gresik. The tomb of Maulana Malik Ibrahim, one of the Walisongo, is close by; two of the Walisongo rest in Gresik, which is why it is called the City of Saints (Kota Wali). The square in this world is still drawn as it was before the redesign and is being redrawn.
